The Studio has been running for just over a year and runs regular monthly Autism Friendly Gaming Events.
The Studio is currently working on their first Digital Video Game Title and where possible encourages students to enhance their experience of being part of this exciting venture. “Digital Story telling is a real passion for us and the Studio has started from nothing, relaying purely on our own savings and equipment and from income from our workshops and projects. We hope to start up on ‘Patreon’ very soon, to help build the game faster, encourage further participation and realise our vision”.

With more than 35 years’ experience in the music industry, SSR started life in 1980 as Spirit Studios in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Since then, SSR has grown with the industry and evolved with technologies to remain at the forefront of audio and creative education. Through the years, we have lead the way in music education, and to this day we are proud to continue to do so, whilst also developing a number of industry focused courses in film production and games development.

In August 2017, we moved into brand new, state-of-the-art facilities, which have been designed specifically for teaching games. We offer BSc Games Programming, BSc Games Design and BA Games Art at undergraduate level, and we have a successful MA Games Development programme for graduates from games degree courses.
